England Coach Southee Uncertain on The Ashes Participation

England's fast-bowling advisor Southee is still working through the extent of his role will be at the forthcoming Ashes contest in Australia.
The former Kiwi pace bowler is only likely to be present for the first Test due to his involvement in the International League T20 tournament, which starts on 2 December in the United Arab Emirates.
Southee, aged 36, assumed a role as England's pace bowling advisor in the warmer months after taking 391 scalps in 107 Test matches for the Kiwis.
Speaking as the English team for the first of three T20 matches against the Kiwis was named, he stated of his participation: "We are still evaluating the situation at the moment.
"We will determine what happens over the next little while."
England pace icon Broad had declared the Australian team as their "weakest squad since 2010", but Southee was in little doubt over what to expect during the series, which begins on 21 November.
"I don't think there's ever a poor Aussie side," Southee remarked.
"The team's attention is squarely on what we're trying to do. In my opinion the caliber of [England's] side that's going out to the host country is brilliant.
"It should be an thrilling encounter, that series. Not just [are|do] English and Australian people eagerly anticipate it, I think the entire cricketing community is."
However, prior to the English team travel to the city of Perth for the first Ashes match, they face the Kiwis in Christchurch on Saturday.
