Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a former physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
