Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:

- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
