Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
