The United Kingdom is set to progress with using the entire amount of immobilized Russia's holdings to aid the Ukrainian defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany stated that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the initiative would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

British penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had exclusively been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the frozen Russian sovereign holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Russia.

This statement is subsequent to European officials met in the Danish capital recently to consider employing seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump urged international partners to seize or employ frozen Russian assets, according to reports.

The value of seized Russian funds in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Russia launched large-scale aerial attacks across Ukraine on recently, leading to blackouts in significant regions of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Two people were killed and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the attack, Ukrainian officials reported.

In a message on X subsequent to the strike, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike targeted public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not empty words but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told reporters he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which Nato countries buy military equipment from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While applauding the UK's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the system, as well as impose additional restrictions on Moscow.
